Player Piano for Art Installation in Minneapolis
By Donald Barton

Last year, Jill Auckenthaler of New York City contacted me about using
one of my player pianos for an art project. She wanted to put digital
information about her day's activities on a piano roll that would play
in an art exhibit that would run for over a month, 5 days a week.

With the help of Bob Billings of Sierra Rolls, the art project went off
without a hitch, using my 1931 Stroud Duo-Art grand that had automatic
re-roll and re-peat capabilities. The exhibit ran from June 25th
through July 28th, 2010, at the Soap Factory Art Gallery in Minneapolis.
