Unknown Brass Cylinder Music Box Plays 32 Reeds
By Matthew Caulfield

After posting my reply yesterday to Fredy Gerer's inquiry about his
all-pipe music box, I received from Fredy, via MBSI's editor Rosanna
Harris, four JPEG photos showing the box in question. The first photo
was a picture of its tune sheet that exactly matches #94 in Bulleid's
"Musical Box Tune Sheets." He identifies it as one used by S. Troll,
describing it as "A simple buff-on-cream design often used on his
earlier boxes" (this box dating to ca. 1871).

Ord-Hume doesn't say much about Samuel Troll, beyond the fact that he
was in business from 1868 to 1889 and that he did make a flutina-type
box.
