Unknown Small Clockwork Barrel Piano
By Jim Quashnock

I am presently working on the restoration of a small barrel piano that
came from France. It was in the town of Brest. Other than the words
"P. Capitaine Brest" and "Le Brestois", which are carved into the
front of the case, the only other name is "Baby Piano" which is stamped
onto the cast iron frame. The serial number of "6904" is stamped on
everything. A similar instrument (Item #759) can be seen at

  http://www.mmdigest.com/Auctions/Chartres0205/0205En_images.html

Can anyone help with it's identification? This one stands about 48"
tall. It has an 8-tune barrel. There are 37 keys: 36 notes and one for
the mandoline attachment. It is coin operated. The mechanism is mostly
there. I am missing all of the mandoline mechanism and a little from
the coin mechanism. If anyone has pictures of these I would appreciate
a copy.

Sincerely,
Jim Quashnock
