Interesting comments on Mr. Herz's father's experience tuning
Acrosonic spinets at the Baldwin factory.  At a PTG (Piano
Technician's Guild) convention, I remember one respected tuner
explaining how to deal with tuning an Acrosonic in the home:

  "Set your watch alarm for two hours.  At the end of two hours,
  put your tools away; the tuning won't get any better than that!"

Although, I have met some worse-scaled pianos, but I won't mention
brands (mostly because I've blocked them from my memory!).
