How to Interest People in Mechanical Music
By Horacio Asborno

[ Translated from Spanish by Robbie --

When I'm talking with people of almost any age who are totally
unaware of what a pianola is, they have to say -- constantly
(to my astonishment), all without exception -- maybe they have seen
one in some movie, generally about the American West, but they have
never personally seen one live.

There are several types of interest: (1) general knowledge, (2) the
listener simply enjoys listening to music, and (3) interest in the
operation of the pneumatic and mechanical system of the instrument.

Are there more reasons? Which is the most important of these three?
