Mystery Bruder at Buckroe Beach
By Will Eley

Shown below is the band organ at the Buckroe Beach Carousel in Hampton,
Virginia. It was built in 1914 and was purchased from the Berni Organ
Company by the Buckroe Beach Amusement Park around 1929. Sometime in
the 30s it was converted by B.A.B. to play their 66-key rolls.

During its 1988 restoration, "Dentzel" was revealed written prominently
on the façade. There was speculation that it is a Wilhelm Bruder Söhne
model 79 organ. But the large-scale flutes on its very front
contradict that, unless they were added by B.A.B.

This is all I know so far. I would love to get some more insight into
the identity of this organ.
