Fallboard Springs for Steinway Duo-Art Grand
By Don Teach

I am looking at the little metal piece that holds up the fall board
in a Steinway Duo-Art grand. Does anyone know for sure what kind of
steel was used to make this part? I would suspect spring steel but
then it is possible that 1018 would work. This part is in the cheek
block in each end of the piano. I am thinking of making it out of
.035" spring steel. The original was much thicker.
