Registration on Marcel Dupre Duo-Art Organ Roll
By John Wiley

[ Ref. Bob Taylor in 140723 MMDigest. ]

While I do not own a roll itself, I used to have an LP record (a mono
recording, mind you!) of Marcel Dupre himself playing the said "Fugue
in G minor" on his "Home Pipe Organ".

He starts out the fugue from the beginning using only a very loud,
foundational-sounding Trumpet 8' with a few quiet helper stops. Later
in the fugue he retires said Trumpet for a softer reed (Hautbois?) and
more flues. Then he adds in that very loud Trumpet 8' again near the
finish.

So my guess would be, yes, if you have a Trumpet 8' stop, use it!
