Electric Piano Motor Cleaning & Lubrication
By Adam Aceto

Dear MMD Gang, There are a number of articles in the MMD Archives
regarding motor lubrication, however, none which walk through the
process step-by-step for reproducing pianos. I have never lubricated
the motor for my late Ampico A (1928) grand and, while it works
perfectly, I'd like to avoid any future problems by learning how to
lubricate it properly.

The motor is a Holtzer-Cabot style ST17 1/8 hp AC motor. I'm hoping
someone can walk me through the process of properly and safely dropping
the motor from the piano, directing me to which screws/wells to open,
and which oil and where and how much to lubricate.

Much appreciated in advance.
