Seek Vacuum Gauge for Player Piano

Would an automotive vacuum test gauge be suitable for piano settings,
provided that the instruments recommended high vacuum point was 30
inches or lower?  They seem to be available reasonably cheaply --
perhaps too cheaply.  Just seeking opinions.  Many thanks.

 [ Player piano vacuum is measured in inches water column; 30 inches
 [ vacuum is pretty loud!  The automotive vacuum gage reads to around
 [ 30 inches of mercury column, so it will barely move when connected
