Tunesheet Titles Are Difficult to Read
By Matthew Caulfield

I took the challenge of Niko Wiegman's tunesheet in the 151116 MMD.
I deciphered tunes 2-4, but couldn't crack tune 1. The words
following "Mazurka" look like "pasde loupe," but no results.

Tune 2 is "Rachel!, Quand du Seigneur" from Fromental Halévy's
opera, "La Juive" (with Rachel spelled Rachelle here, as Niko rightly
deciphered).

Tune 3 is "Choeur des gardes-chasses" from Ambroise Thomas' "Le songe
d'une nuit d'ete" (Midsummer Night's Dream)

Tune 4 is "Pour Berthe, moi je soupire", the pastorale from Meyerbeer's
"Le Prophete."

[ #1 following Mazurka may be "Pas de loup", which is a dance performed
