I read two old MMD articles, "Player Piano Bench of Unique Design",
in which Brian Stahl and John Kadlec describe a unique player piano
bench.  See

What really caught my eye, however, was that the patent date on John
Kadlec's bench matches the date on my bench, which is very much the
same.  The date was June 16, 1914.
