Tangley Calliaphone Manufacturing Date
By Jack M. Conway

Hi Group, I was asked how to remove the cheek block on the CA-43
calliope to find the manufacturing date. I took my cheek block off
to be sure how to describe how to do it. In doing so I discovered
I misspoke in my MMD posting [170319 MMDigest]. The writing is not
on the cheek block but underneath it written on the key bed (see
attached photo).

To remove the block you have to remove several parts.

1. There is a metal bar that runs across the front of the keys.
It is attached to the front of both cheek blocks. Remove the two
screws and lift out the bar.

2. Remove the keyboard cover by removing the machine screw nut on
both sides.

3. There is a felted wood bar just behind the sharp keys. It is
attached to the top of both check blocks. Remove the two screws
and lift out the bar.

4. You will then see a large screw attaching the left cheek block
to the key bed. Remove the screw and lift out the cheek block.

My information is written on the key bed where the cheek block was
mounted.
