2017 A Bad Year For Carousels & Mechanical Music
By Matthew Caulfield

The year 2017 is not over yet (still a month to go) but the number of
prominent figures in the carousel world and the mechanical music world
that left us in 2017 is astounding and at the same time depressing.

Here are some of the people who were active in 2016 but are not with
us any longer: Elaine Obenchain, Warren Trachtman, Olin Tillotson,
Shirley Nix, Will Morton, Tony Ciuffini, Jo Summit, Al Rappaport,
Dan Horenberger, Larry Karp, Richard "Rapid T. Rabbit" Concepcion,
Rita Orre, Bromfield Hine.

Thirteen people, friends of many of us in the fields we share interests
in, gone this year. Makes one stop and ask, "Who is next?"
