Hymn "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms"
By Marshall Jose

Anthony J. Showalter composed a tune in 1887 which included some
initial lyrics intended to comfort recent widowers. He was later
assisted by Elisha A. Hoffman to fill out the work as a proper hymn,
which is still sung in modern times.

The refrain ends with the phrase, "leaning on the everlasting arms,"
by which many are familiar. In modern hymnals, though, the work
is better known as "What a Fellowship, What a Joy Divine".

That said, I have done a cursory search of works scanned, as well
as piano roll catalogs, and have not found any hits.
