FS: Steinway Duo-Art and New 88-note Word Rolls
By Richard Groman

I am making room for my newly restored Mason Hamlin Ampico. So I am selling

this 1934 Steinway Duo-Art XR Grand, serial no. 278883, case no. H-180.

It is a late piano with typical Duo-Art mechanism but with the late-style

key shift and floating tracker bar (so as not to rip up rolls). The piano

has a perfect original sound board with no cracks. It has been re-strung,

new hammers, and action work done. It hand-plays nicely. Original ivory

keyboard is beautiful. Older Duo-Art restoration with maintenance done

as needed, plays great. The red mahogany case is in amazing original

condition. Nice deep bass. Was kept out of sun; so no alligatoring or

scratches. Still has a beautiful warm clear finish. Late-style wider,

delicate leg design with extra trim around case like used on the OR pianos.

An amazing instrument. $3900. Or best offer.
