Richard, you must be referring to Ed Freyer's workshop.  His collection
remained in our family until the mid-1980s at which point it was broken
up and sold to different folks.

Maybe you can search for Matt Jaro's "Nickel Notes" article in the link
below about Ed, and see if any of the machines noted match your memory.
Perhaps from there I can see if family records exist on the purchasers
of the machines you identify.
