By Cornelis Vanistendael
Dear All, By launching an online search about Pierre Honoré
Davrainville, I stumbled upon this very interesting initiative
of Robert Hough:

Davrainville Barrel Organs Registery
I am a volunteer researcher about dance history at Ghent University and
am mainly specialised in early 19th century dancing in North Western
Europe (Brussels & Paris mainly) during the years that the Davrainville
workshop was very active. He was also a trained musician and that makes
his instruments an interesting research topic for dance historians.
Many tunes programmed into these instruments were noted down by the
builder himself and thus reflect the style and gusto of that kind of
music in a unique way.
My own research is more dance related and artistic, but I would greatly
appreciate to get into contact with Mr. Hough. Thank you for putting us
into contact. You may share my e-mail address with him.
Kind regards,
Cornelis Vanistendael, PhD - Ghent University
