Introduction
By Robin Pratt

Hello,
Thanks Jody, I'll introduce myself to all and I assume that this is the
correct address?.!? Hope so.

[ yes. automatic-music@foxtail.com goes to this digest

I have a private restoration business in Sandusky, Ohio. I do
restoration of pianos, players, reproducing pianos, pump organs, etc. I buy
music rolls and instruments, but also find "homes" for orphan instruments. I
also have my own music roll label called, ARTISTS' CHOICE MUSIC ROLLS. I
specialize in recutting old important and historic music rolls. My first
catalogue, which just came out in January, was a huge success and contained
33 AMPICO and 1 88-note medley roll (Lady Be Good!). The second series is
in the process of assembly and will be sent off to the roll reader/perforator
soon. The next list will have AMPICO, WELTE-MIGNON as well as 88-NOTE music
rolls.
I am the Editor/Publisher for the AMICA BULLETIN. AMICA (The Automatic
Musical Instrument Instrument Collectors' Association, International), is an
association of collectors and appreciators of paper roll and paper book
operated musical instruments. Preservation, distribution and enjoyment are
the main goals of AMICA. Anyone is welcome to join international as well as
local chapters.
I have a good sized collection of instruments as well as several
thousand music rolls. (all types) I love all mehcanical musical
instruments, but my main interest would be piano oriented as I was a piano
major in college. European orchestrions are particularly outstanding
examples of what man can do, not to mention the reproducing piano and it's
recordings. I hope this gives you enough info to start. Thanks!

[ editor's note: The Internet address of any AOL user is their
[ AOL "screen name" followed by @aol.com.
  [
[ The "book says" that Internet e-mail addresses
[ are case independent. That means that all of
[ the following Internet addresses should do
  [ the same thing:
  [
  [ PIANOLA@AOL.COM
  [ pianola@aol.com
  [ Pianola@Aol.Com
  [
[ Case variations in email addresses are generally
[ used to make things legible.
  [
  [ Please note that PianoLeo@aol.com and Pianola@aol.com
[ are not the same person.
