Verdi and Rossini Player
By Les Smith

Hi, Joe. The player you're searching for is a really obscure one. I've
been restoring vintage pneumatic players professionally for over thirty
years and I've never even HEARD of a Verdi and Rossini player, much less
seen one! However, my records indicate that I did tune a Verdi upright
back in the mid-1960's, but it's the only one I ever saw and it definitely
was NOT a player. It's possible that Verdi added the Rossini name to their
players to distinguish them from their regular, non-player instruments.
Because Verdi and Rossini could hardly be called a "name" brand, it is very
possible that the dealer who took your old piano in on a trade junked it
and it is gone forever. :( However, if by some miracle someone does respond
to your post, I would greatly appreciate you're posting back to this
list and letting us know what type of player action Verdi and Rossini
used and also the serial # inside the piano, if possible. Thanks. And good
luck with your quest!
