Spelling Errors
By Ralph Schack

Jody,

Seems to me you have enough to do putting the list together without
worrying about spelling errors. Publish the submissions as they come
in - if the contributor doesn't care, why should you? And besides,
that way the list is an original recording - nobody can complain that
the list has been sanitized, either digitally or otherwise!

 [ Editor's Note:
 [
 [ Ralph,
 [
[ I'm trying to distinguish the digest from the typical random noisy
[ list server. As the volume of traffic increases, it is tempting to do
[ "less" to prepare each digest. I don't do much "sanitization", but
[ there are lots of things that need to be done lest people stop reading
[ because of the noise. For instance, it is not unusual for people to
[ "quote" an entire digest when trying to send a message here. I _KNOW_
[ that you don't want to see these. Also, about half the submissions we
[ get involving replies to other's messages involve a Subject: line that
[ is the title of the previous digest. These lines would make poor
[ subjects for the index. I'm thinking about doing less, but I can't
[ bring myself to allow the quality to go down...
