Christies Auction
By Brian Chesters

Hi all,

I thought you may like to hear of a few things in the forthcomming sale
of mechanical music in London.

On the Phonograph front there is an amazing Edison diamond disc player
in a French Gothic cabinet 88 inches wide and 77 inches high. A very
rare item indeed, the estimate is 10 to 15,000 pounds.

There is another typical diamond disc player at 3 to 400 pounds. There
are about 100 lote of gramophones and phonographs in the sale.

There are two chamber barrel organs and six singing bird boxes. On the
musical box front there are 110 lote including the bits and pieces
from the late George Worswick.

Including a 13 in. disc playing Symphonion hall clock at 6 to 8,000, a
four overture Nicole at 3 to 4,000, a Paillard sublime harmony tremolo
box at 3 to 4000 and many others. I have decided to attend this sale,
Its about time I went.

All the best from England.ΒΆ
