A New Book
By Brian Chesters

I received in the post to-day a note from an old friend Terry Broadbent
of a new book that he has published entitled "Great Pianists of the
Golden Age" by Marguerite and Terry Broadbent with a forword by
Vladimir Ashkenazy.

It is a biography of 25 pianists who were involved in the great era of
roll recording such as Saint-Saens, Carreno, Paderewski, Rachmaninov,
Grainger, Rubinstein, Hofmann etc. etc.

It also contains a list of the recordings that are currently available
on disc etc. and complete lists of their recordings on Duo-Art, Welte,
Ampico amd a summery of their other piano rolls.

The price is only =A314:95 in the UK with =A32:55 UK post or =A33:18
oversees postage. I thought some may have been interested in this.

Brian Chesters.

 [ Editor's Note: I think =A31 is British Pound Sterling, but I'm
 [ not sure
