John Tuttle and all, thanks for your information about rates.  That gives
some of us a barometer to go by.  I have found many times that you get
what you pay for, and if you're paying too little then you get more
heartaches than solutions.  That's not to say there aren't folks out
there who just love to work on these things and sometimes do pro-bono
work.  I applaud you whoever you are.

I have decided to tackle a few of the most minor things on mine.  I have
a broken leaf-spring in the tempo regulator box in the bottom.  One side
of it is still intact and the piano does okay, but the regulator doesn't
really do well down around T60.  It still plays like T70.  I'm in north
central Texas; are there any recommendations on where to go to get a
piece to replace it?  I'll do the usual calling around, but if there's an
"insiders'" place, I'd love to know about it.
