This sentence appeared recently in the Digest:

Please remember that just because it is easy to "lift" an image from
someone else's page to use on your own page doesn't mean you have the
right to do so.  In some cases it may be legally wrong, but if nothing
else I believe it to be ethically wrong unless it is known to be "free
stuff" or public domain.  I've found most people are more than willing
to share their graphics if asked, but please -- ask first. In return,
many people will only ask for a brief credit or a link to their page.

Sorry, but theft of "art" is a pet peeve of mine.
