Re: Epoxy on Tracker Bar Nipples
By Terry Smythe

In a previous Digest I related how a friend of mine in British Columbia
crated up and sent to me a pumper player piano stack (piano brand still
unknown) that had theoretically been restored by another technician in
his area about a year previously. The dominant problem was a ton of epoxy
on the tracker bar nipples.

Quite a few MMD members have kindly emailed direct to me some very good
suggestions for which I am very grateful. I will be consolidating these
replies into a summary message after all is said and done.

In my original post, I appealed for a tracker bar containing sustain and
theme accent ports, but failed to indicate that the bar should also
contain at each end a pair of staggered tracking ports. It would be nice
if the bar also had a soft pedal port, although I'm not yet certain if the
piano is equipped with automatic soft pneumatics.

Much appreciate everybody's help.

Regards,

Terry
