Player Piano Company
By Joyce Brite

Durrell is sure taking it on the chin! I wish he were on-line so that
he could have his say! I wrote yesterday's submission rather hastily,
and I want to clarify it.

There is sure to be disagreement among those who feel they have been
treated fairly and those who feel they have been treated unfairly. Yes,
it _is_ a laid-back place. But, what one person perceives as laid-back,
another perceives as unprofessional and unfriendly. True, I've never
received a cheerful smile when I've walked in the door, nor been able to
engage them in conversation lasting longer than a few words. But at the
same time, I've never been thrown out on my ear or harshly confronted!

Most of the people on this list will never have the opportunity to visit
Player Piano Company in person. The only impression they will ever have
is what they hear over the phone or by mail. Ordering from PPCo by phone
is not like ordering from Land's End. If you expect it to be, you're
going to be disappointed. I believe everyone at PPCo is trying their
hardest to run a smooth, friendly operation. But there are some days when
everything goes wrong, and the person who called just before you may have
been a real jerk.  I've been on both sides of the sales/service counter;
it is impossible to make everyone happy. Even when you knock yourself out
trying to do an excellent job, you still get criticized.

Player Piano Company is a vital source for supplies. But, just once,
I would like to have them smile and say hello before I do.
