Music for Fluteclocks and Wine-tasting
By Jan Kijlstra

Hauke, in my collection of records I have one with a couple of musical
pieces by Mozart. It states: "Musik fuer ein Musikuhr". However, I have
the score of that music, and its called "Musik fuer ein Floetenuhr".
I guess the original instrument was a "Floetenuhr" or fluteclock.
Sometime this might have become "Musikuhr"?

Since I'm living in a small city in Holland, nearby Arnheim, the distance
is not a problem: about 220 kilometers. I do know Ruedesheim, since
I spent holidays in Johannisberg, the major wine-village of the most
important German wine-region, the Rheingau. While writing these words
I remember those days.

I even was active at a Weinfest, playing the flute in the band of the
voluntary fire brigade of Johannisberg. That is, drinking wine-with-
water (the water should lower the percentage) and playing the dance music
in-between. And I also was so lucky to visit a wine-tasting "Weinprobe",
at Schloss Johannisberg, including a tour in the cellars. Believe me,
it was one of the most joyful holidays ever.

So please give me the date of the next "happening", and I'll try to meet
you there.

Jan
