Well it looks like a few people liked the idea.  Here is an "ascii-graph"

It will take a bit more time to come up with a utility to plot everyone's
location.  However I will do that as I have time.

I also received a few good suggestions:

 - Specify your month and year of birth rather than your age.
   This will make it easier to keep the data accurate over time,
   as new subscribers are added.

 - For fun, you can include a guess of the group's average age.

Don't worry about the exact syntax, I read every message "by hand".
