Sources for Cloth and Leather
By Darrell Clarke

G'day all, Although you haven't heard much from me lately, I've been
here, skulking around, gathering information for my Duo-Art rebuild job
coming up.

I am particularly noting comments on, and sources of, pneumatic cloth and
leather. I was most surprised to read about good quality cloth from
Australia, because a few years ago I had given up on the local product
which I had found very porous, and I ended up using imported material
from a local supplier (I can't recall whether it was from Germany or U.S.
-- do any of our European members have good local sources?) I must find
out where this *good* Australian cloth came from.

As for MMD editorial policy, I personally have no problem with the way it
has been done and always enjoy the pithy (not always taking the *pith*
out of our correspondents!) and helpful remarks, but I can appreciate
some concerns where an editorial comment might be seen as taking sides on
the rare occasions where there has been a disagreement between
correspondents. I haven't recalled this happening.

Keep up the excellent work!

What is the practical upper limit to our membership, if any?
1000? 10,000?

We must be heading rapidly to the point where something will break,
probably the editors! (I must stop using those exclamations!!) When the
time to process (and read) the letters reaches 24 hours we will have a
problem.

Cheers,
