FS: 1935 Steck Ampico A/B
By Terry Smythe

I've just returned from Vancouver, BC, where I spent a month renovating
my recently deceased mother's-in-law home so it can be put up for sale
soon. The adventure has prompted me to do whatever it takes to put my
own affairs in order. Time has come to get serious about shrinking my
collection down to something much more manageable.

To begin --

For Sale: 1935 George Steck Ampico A/B, Serial #132828. Highly figured
5-foot walnut case, Mottled walnut trim, With Bench. Repinned, strung,
re-hammered, re-finished, harp re-guilded. Rebuilt Ampico system, "B"
Drawer and Stack, "A" Pump and Expression, now has both crescendos.

The piano has a big voice well in excess of its size, with a broad range
of expression. This is the instrument I've been using for my Legendary
Masters concerts in the 350-seat Muriel Richardson concert hall in the
Winnipeg Art Gallery.

Previously priced at $11,400 US, now reduced to $8,500 US. Identical to
illustration on page 314 of Jul/Aug 95 AMICA Bulletin. Pictures of it
may also be seen off my home page:
