Mechanical Music in the Movies
By Gordon Forcier

Has anyone ever heard of or seen the movie "Operation Amsterdam". This
movie was made around 1962 and is about the Allies trying to stop the
Nazis from stealing a cache of diamonds in Holland. Well, the twist or
plot to the whole thing was that the device used to signal the Allies
that the Nazis, or a Nazi spy, had arrived, was a street organ being
played to signal them of the oncoming threat.

I am plagued with one problem: I can't find this movie anywhere and
I know it is available on VHS video tape. The first and only time
I saw it was back in the mid 60's. It played the most haunting tune,
which I still hear playing in my head, and I think that the organ is an
H. Mollmann organ.

If anybody has this tape, send me a copy, please, so I can get it out of
my system once and for all. Let me know how much.
