Mechanical Music in the Movies
By Bob Conant

I have been offline for a couple weeks so forgive comments on old stuff.

There are several movies that I remember that had some form of
mechanical music in them although it is a while since I watched any of
them that I am not sure of the details.

"Something Wicked This Way Comes" - A Disney movie featuring a magical
carousel. Prominently featured throughout the movie. I am sure it
includes a large band organ. It contains much band organ music.

"Just You and Me Kid" - George Burns and Brooke Shield. Features a
scene where George puts a roll on a Steinway Duo-Art and listens
through much of the roll.

"My Gal Tisa" - has a fairly short scene featuring a Mills Violano Virtuoso

"Big" - Tom Hanks. I don't remember any music but the whole movie is kicked
off by operating a coin operated fortune teller.

Ron Bopp, are you going to make a list of these things and publish it ?
