Gulbransen Key-contact Strip
By Jim Moore

This is in response to Steve Currier's inquiry re: MIDI from piano rolls.
I have a Gulbranson MIDI strip in my 1932 KNABE w/ an Ampico "B"
reproducer. I take the MIDI out from the strip and record it with a
Roland SoundBrush. The MIDI strip is invisible, as it is installed under
the keys on the keybed. I can take the disc and "clean" up the MIDI
recording on my computer with a MIDI editor if necessary.

I don't know if I'd do it again however. It was an expensive investment
with the price of the strip and SoundBrush being rather substantial. I
don't seem to use it much after the novelty wore off. ... Boys and their
Toys, etc.

Sincerely,
Jim Moore
