Restoring the Piano
By George Epple

Hello All, I would like to find out if anyone has any opinions or
suggestions on the following items:

1) What hammers (brand) should be installed on a AA (6'2) Mason and
Hamlin grand piano?

2) Who is making the best/most accurate strings? I have been told
that some string manufacturers are not using the correct "core" wire
for wound strings.

3) What paint should be used on the plate? I'm trying to avoid the
"new Japanese piano" look.

4) Where can I find an Ampico Model B "on-off" switch?

As a new subscriber to MMD I am continually impressed by the quality
of information I find daily in my e-mail. Thanks!
