Converting Rolls to MIDI
By Richard Moody

I guess I am daydreaming again. I looked over at my piano with the
Pianomation almost installed and had another idea, but I am not sure
how to make it work

If I had some type of "tracker bar" that could "read" the roll and
convert it back to MIDI, it would play the Pianomation in the classic
"roll mode" as well as with the computer and CD's.

I use the pneumatic player action to copy rolls but I think there
could be a better method than what I am using now.

I read somewhere that there was a method of putting some sort of light
sensors in the tracker bar and reading the roll optically. If anyone
knows how this method works, what is needed, etc., please contact me.
