Leslie 540 Speaker
By Gary Jones

Robbie, I quote from "Leslie Speakers - Model 540 Service
Information Parts List," dated 2/79, from Electro Music/CBS Musical
Instruments (by the way, Hammond/Leslie is now owned by Suzuki) :

 "Leslie Speaker Model 540 is a two-channel stationary (non-rotary)
cabinet. It is designed to be used with a companion Leslie speaker,
hereafter referred to as the "basic" speaker. Typical of these are
models 705 and 720, having stationary (MAIN) and rotary (TIBIA)
channels, as well as pedal tone reproduction capability.

The combination will fully accommodate and complement electronic
organs having three or four independent output channels. The
addition of a second model 540 will provide a complete six-channel
  system.

The speaker contains completely solid-state amplifiers and two
power supply systems, with individual amplification and output
circuits for each of the two channels. (figure 1)

The two 6" by 9" speakers used are especially selected for wide
range response, to reproduce the complete tonal spectrum produced
by corresponding channels of the associated musical instrument.
A three-position treble response control (TRC) permits the speaker
response to be coordinated to that of the particular organ model
  with which it is used.

The speaker power supply connects directly to an AC outlet. An
11-conductor cable (part of the console connector kit) carries the
various signals and voltages to input plug P1 as described here."

I'll stop transcribing here -- this thing goes on for 12 pages.
Included are all the schematics, interconnection and control
descriptions, parts lists, and notes.

Don -- if you'd like a photocopy of this, send me your address,
I'll be glad to send it to you.

Thanks,
