We had (and still have) a TV show called 'Tomorrow's World' and
I remember the Auto-typist being featured on this in the late 60s.

I was working as a BBC technician at the time and happened to be
involved with the production.  The people who had made the machine
told me they'd bought up a roll cutting installation.  The paper roll
they were using appeared be identical to the 88-note standard.

The typewriter stood on a large box inside which was a very ordinary
looking player piano stack and a lot of connecting rods.  They too said
the system would work with any standard typewriter but they didn't say
how long it took to install.  The roll drive was electric and the power
source was a small organ type blower.

I recall their irritation when they discovered I was a player piano
enthusiast and understood the technology.  They wanted to present this
as an "all new" system !
