Crank-organ Entertains Mountain Climbers
By Bill Finch

While in Switzerland we hiked and climbed from Zermat to the top of Mt.
Gornergrat to get a good look at the Matterhorn. We were so smug as we
reached the top with our light packs and gear, only to find that two
brothers from Lugano had set up a little Limonaire fairground organ at
the very top.

The temperature was 21 degrees Fahrenheit, but the Limonaire was
cranking out French folk songs. It was surrounded by an audience of
large crows that were tilting their heads trying to understand what
was happening. We listened and talked and drank hot cider and fed the
crows before taking the cog train back down to Zermat.

The world is rich with small wonders.
