Translation of German Inscription
By Frank Metzger

Re: 980916 MMDigest

Dear all, Not to try to steal the thunder of our two eminent
translators but:

"Treue Liebe macht uns gluecklich - O, Liebe welke nie!"

Gluecklich has a second meaning: fortunate; happy. Welke (v)
means to whither or fade. It translates better as:

"True love - it makes us happy - Oh love, don't ever fade!"

or (in the first person):

"True love makes me so happy -- Oh love, don't ever fade!

Now, if you want to make me Gluecklich tell me please that
you know someone in Romania (E-mail or otherwise) who might
be interested in mechanical music.

Thanks,

Frank Metzger
