Song-Repeating Device on Player Piano
By Hal Davis

In regard to Mike Kitner's question whether anyone else had seen a
repeater device on an automatic piano, the answer is "yes."

Years ago I acquired a piano that had a device similar to what Mike
describes. Tracing back the ownership, I discovered that it had been
formerly owned by people who had a dance studio in Chicago and they
used that feature for dance practice.

Incidentally, when I got the piano, there was still with it a hand-
perforated roll of dance music. It was explained to me that they had
made several of their own rolls over the years but unfortunately had no
recollection as to what ever became of the perforator.

The people that I talked with were the daughter and son-in-law of the
original owners and had obviously not taken a lot of interest in it
all.
