Mechanical Music in the Movies
By John McClelland

Greetings all, Last night we watched "My Husband's Secret Life,"
released this month, with Ann Archer and others. One scene was shot
at Coney Island and involved the carousel there. Inside the building,
the director treated the audience to several shots of a Wurlitzer band
organ, which (supposedly?) played while they rode the carousel. The
movie is pretty forgettable, but the building and the carousel looked
suspiciously familiar, like the one in "The Sting," made 25 years ago.
Does anyone know?

Just another piece of musical miscellany, but mechanical instruments
still show up in films!
