Building G-style Orchestrion
By Jonathan Holmes

I am presently building a G style orchestrion using a large American
(I live in the UK) 88-note pianola of 1922. I plan to model it on the
Seeburg model G in case style and instrumentation, with two ranks of
organ pipes.

Having seen photographs of a number of Seeburg G's I am not sure
whether the Flutes play in unison or an octave higher than the Violins.
Also, if anyone can give a few measurements to the scale of these pipes
I would be very grateful, as I have an organ-building friend who is
going to construct the two ranks and chest.

I am also looking for a secondhand G roll spool frame. If anyone has
one hidden away at a reasonable price please mail me. Also details of
suppliers of G Rolls, as I have a few but would like to add to my
collection so when I am ready to play them I have a selection to try.
