Flexible Joints in Gulbransen Player Action

While the subject of Gulbransen player actions is current, I'd like
to ask what that material is that was used in the flexible joints which
connect the finger on the lower pneumatic board to the push rod, and
also connect the push rod and the finger that contacted the whippen.
Was it some kind of felt?
