Cut Music Rolls with Laser Beam
By John Kleinbauer

Hi All, I am enjoying this discussion! A spinning front surface
mirror would let the beam burn the paper from left to right. To
prevent fire, the assembly could be put in a clear Plexiglas case that
is keep in a slight vacuum condition using a vacuum cleaner motor. The
amount of vacuum could be controlled via speed control of the vacuum
motor.

The only problem I see with this idea is the cost of the laser. I also
ask the question, do we really want to add this much technology to a
hobby that is so much fun because of the lack of it?
