Les Ondes Martenot & Olivier Messiaen
By Albert Petrak

Olivier Messiaen made considerable use of the "Ondes Martenot" in his
"Turangalila" sinfonie (1949) and in the 1944 "Petites liturgies".
There was even a "Fete des belles eaux" for _six_ ondes martenot and
I seem to remember an "Ondes Martenot" concerto, but can't find
documentation for that.

As I recall, his wife, Yvonne Loriod, was a gifted executant on the
machine. Philippe Rouille will undoubtedly set us straight on that.
