Phonograph Turntable Speeds
By Jim Cook

Here is something to ponder concerning phonograph speed. I am going
back a while to the days when I was in grammar school (1949 or so).
I seem to remember that the phonograph provided to our country school
by the county schools Fine Arts department was a 3-speed manual
phonograph and that the second speed was 66-2/3 rpm. Does anyone know
anything about that speed? This would have been before the 45 rpm EP
records became popular. Best to all of you.
