Bovey Collection in Nevada City MT
By Tom McAuley

Thanks to Tim Trager for the information about the Bovey collection.
I visited Nevada City last year and was interested to know more about
how all those instruments had been collected into one place.

A visit to the old Music Hall is fascinating, but depressing. I
enjoyed seeing all of those instruments, even though I didn't know what
all of them were (many are not identified), but almost half of them had
"Out of Order" signs and the rest of them should have. The ones that
played sounded horrible!

There is a big sign that says Art Reblitz of Colorado Springs maintains
the organs, but I suspect he hasn't been there for a while. I hope the
State of Montana starts their restorations while they still have
something to restore. Some of the machines looked to be in pretty bad
shape.
