Price Paid for Welte No. 2 Cottage Orchestrion
By Jonathan Holmes

I thought you all might like to know what the Welte No. 2 Cottage
Orchestrion made at Christies, London, auction. I was surprised,
as I felt, along with a few colleagues, that it would fetch more,
but on the day I am reliably informed it only made 40,000 UK Pounds
on the hammer; with commission and tax add a further 20%.

I think someone has got a very nice untouched original instrument
for a very sensible price.
