Punched Card Patents
By Francoise Dussour

Hallo MMD friends! I ask you if you have an idea on this interesting
question: Who has invented the punched card ? Is it typically French,
or did other countries find this genial invention? I have some dates:

1802 Patent by Jacquard (1752-1834), punched cards for web-machines
1842 CH. F. Seytre, of Lyon, patented a card for an Automatophon
1861 Teste, of Nantes, made a Kartonium with a patent for the cards
1877 Patent for first orchestrionette from Ehrlich, with an
      endless card system
1884 Patent for the Carpentier's Melotrope with punched cards
1892 Patent from Gavioli in Paris for folded punched cards
1900 Hupfeld's patent, Stransky system (punched cards rolls)

Answer with a reference, please (patent number and/or date).

Best regards from Mirecourt in France
